Oh my goodness, I am smitten with how good this little butcher block island/table and stools turned out! In my haste, I didn’t take any before photos. The butcher block counter height table was found at a garage sale. Probably dating to the early 1980’s, it had nondescript white legs and a top that had seen better days.
We completely refinished the top, sanding it down to bare wood. We gave it a “golden oak” stain and several coats of polyurethane to protect the beautiful hardwood surface.
To increase functionality and style, we added a removable slatted shelf (built by hubby) and a brass finish towel bar from Home Depot.
Finally we painted it out in Sherwin Williams “Naval”. Isn’t she sweet? To make it even more functional we paired it with two rush seat stools. The rush seats were in great shape. The wood frames needed sanding and a fresh coat of Naval paint.
It’s so much fun for me to style the pieces that we are selling. The hand towels, plate, coasters, napkin basket and rug are all from the fabulous Target Opalhouse collection (this is not a paid sponsorship – I am just so impressed with everything Target is doing lately!).
And what are we serving up? Our own zucchini-carrot-chocolate chip muffins — you can find the recipe here . We paired them with mint iced-coffee mojitos from Oleander and Palm which you can find here. Sooooo good.
The butcher block counter table and stools are for sale as a set in our Etsy store (local pickup only). I am envisioning this set in a small country cottage or a tiny urban apartment. Can’t wait to bless the new owner with quality pieces that have been lovingly restored with added functionality and a fresh, modern look!
