Hi everyone. I know this is a little late for Christmas, but this idea will work for any dinner party, maybe in time for your New Year’s Eve party! I think it’s nice to think about where to seat your guests. It makes it easier to get everyone to come to the table when dinner is ready. And you can facilitate mingling by strategically seating your guests!
We started with a box of ribbon candy that we found at Michaels and picked out the colors that worked with our color scheme.
We cut each piece into thirds. We tried different ways of breaking and cutting, even trying a hot knife but nothing resulted in a perfect cut. So we just embraced the imperfection!
For the place cards, we used white and brown card stock and used a glue stick to glue the smaller white card onto the brown. We cut the brown paper to be 2 x 3 inches and the white paper 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.
My daughter happens to be really good at lettering so she hand lettered each one with our guests’ names. If you are like me and haven’t yet developed this talent, you can easily print them out on Word in the font of your choice.
The ribbon candy works great as a holder for the place card And as a bonus your guests get an after dinner treat!
