Hope NJ annual christmas craft market in the community center building with home spun style vendor booth

Hope Christmas Craft Market

HopecraftmarketEach year, during the first weekend in December, the historic town of Hope, New Jersey, hosts their annual  Christmas Craft Market.  This year marks their 34th year and the dates are December 3rd and 4th.  Over 200 crafters participate in this event.  The crafters are located in several buildings:  the school building, the grange, the community center and the firehouse.  A shuttle bus transports shoppers from one building to the other.  It seems all the townspeople and every non profit group gets involved.  Hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts are for sale outside while the area churches offer very good and very cheap meals.  A band plays Christmas songs and there are carolers, too, walking the streets.   And there are even a few chilly yard sales going on.    It reminds me a little bit of the Christmas scene in the movie Funny Farm!

This will be our 4th year doing this show.  Our booth is on the stage in the Community Center which is actually a beautiful old stone church.  We love doing this show for many reasons.  The holiday spirit is wonderful.  The setting is bucolic.  There are lots of friendly crafters.  And it always seems to snow just a little bit to add to the festive air.  It also allows us to bring some of our furniture pieces that are to big to put in our etsy store.  Here’s a few before pics of pieces we’re working on for this show ( the after pics will come soon!):

We’ll also be well stocked with our vintage scrabble ornaments, book page wreaths and ornaments, grain sack runners, burlap pillows and runners, our new banners, fresh boxwood topiaries and paperwhites, chalkboards in vintage frames and lots of silver pieces this year.

We hope you’ll stop by and say hello!  Debra
